In our experience speaking with local Mormon missionaries, we've come to hear this phrase many times: "We are Christians, just like you." This statement might seem quite true to anyone who hasn't studied Mormonism - mostly because they use a lot of the same vocabulary as we do. Words like "Jesus", "God" , "Savior", "Salvation", "Saved" , "Faith" , and "Grace" ... but while they may use the same vocabulary, they're using a different dictionary. They simply don't define those words the same way. So, without going too far into detail, we'd like to submit that there are some very distinct and important differences between Mormonism and Christianity - differences that cannot be reconciled and which create a vivid distinction between the two religions.... things that most people don't know. (We'll stick to using Mormon prophets and texts to provide depth for the points we make.)
Here we go:
1.) Mormons are polytheistic. (They have more than one God.)
2.) God became “God” through good works.
3.) God has a physical body like you and I.
4.) You existed in a pre-earth spirit world before you existed on earth.
5.) Everyone born on earth goes to heaven.
